What we expect
TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager in Atlanta, GA.
This role leads the product development team from innovation to market. This role manages the resources that bring products to market based on the product development roadmap and priorities set by the Product Review Committee. This role is responsible for vetting innovative ideas, product research, technical development, the creation of specifications, vetting and working with manufacturing partners, and collaborating with marketing and consumer services during execution. Managing employees and employee development are also requirements of this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- In conjunction with the Product Strategy Group, develop and maintain product roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
- Research viability of conceptual product features and functionality for new products and improving existing products.
- Perform the hiring for filling open positions.
- Monitor Department KPI’s
- Approves and monitors employee vacation time
- Works with employees to produce meaningful individual development plans.
- Responsible for the assignment of resources to various projects.
- Perform employee reviews and initiate employee career advancement.
- Assists as needed the PM and PLM groups to communicate product priorities across the company by collaborating with various functions and building consensus among them.
- Develop relationships with sub-contract design and manufacturing partners who can provide R&D resources and outsourced manufacturing capacity.
- Collaborate with product marketing to effectively introduce products, coordinate advertising, participate in trade shows and other key activities during the life cycle of the product.
- Support training of internal staff with a focus on areas vital to the department and product road map.
- Support training of internal staff with a focus on marketing, website content developers, and customer service.
- Develop and promote department standards and processes for product design that ensures technical design concepts, item lists, bills of material, etc. are properly documented and controlled. (SPDP)
- Assists as needed the IP Group to document and control Intellectual Property; including working with Legal Department on contract development with partners which protects TKEs' interests.
- Establishing quality standards and require supporting quality assurance standards from design, OEM and manufacturing partners.
- Coordinate with the Product Strategy Group to integrate usability studies, testing, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction.
- Understand strategic and competitive position in the market and deliver innovative experiences that are recognized as best-in-class.
- Attend industry tradeshows, distributor meetings and other events as necessary.
- Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
- Support and promote all TK Elevator’ safety programs.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional knowledge required
- 6+ years experience in a technical product development, project management position.
- 5+ years experience managing people and/or building and leading cohesive teams.
- Must demonstrate a strong aptitude for basic consumer electronics, mechanical devices and elevator systems.
- Must be able to communicate the department and product vision.
- Must have experience setting out the vision and roadmap for products.
- Excellent proficiency using MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project or comparable Project Management Software).
- Experience with Project Management Professional (PMP) processes highly desired.
- Ability to travel sporadically, both domestically and internationally
