Who we are looking for
The position leads and manages overall modernization and new installation operations projects and related activities in Taiwan, and drives safety, quality, project execution, productivity, and process compliance. The incumbent will oversee the operations team to ensure the projects are executed effectively in accordance with company standards, contractual requirements, and local statutory regulations, while supporting continuous improvement in operational performance.
To perform this role, it is expected that the incumbent will possess the following skills, competencies and experience;
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
- Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator equipment, the construction industry, and installation and modernization procedures.
- Solid experience in project management, site operations and on-site supervisory management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing an operations team at department-head level.
- Strong commercial acumen, planning capability and cost-control awareness, with the ability to manage operational performance effectively.
- Proactive, results-oriented, with strong collaborative leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Fluent in Chinese, including spoken Mandarin.
- Strong written and spoken English
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Lead and manage the overall modernization and new installation operations function in Taiwan, including project execution, site management, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Manage, coach and develop the operations team to ensure strong delivery capability and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in compliance with contractual, technical and statutory requirements.
- Drive productivity, quality and efficiency improvements through development and implementation of processes, systems and operational controls, in line with simplification and continuous improvement objectives.
- Monitor project progress, manpower deployment, subcontractor performance, material readiness, cost status and site issues, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Implementation of operational systems and processes as developed from AP / SEA operations directives, where applicable.
- Implementation of installation and modernization methods as developed and released from regional / global operations directives, where applicable.
- Identify training needs and build team capability in project management, site management, safety, quality and commercial knowledge, with the support of internal learning resources where appropriate.
- Implement, audit and enhance country operations processes, procedures and governance standards to ensure compliance and execution discipline.
- Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Safety, Quality, Service and Finance and other internal stakeholders to support smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Build a robust team, driven by strategic hiring and sustained employee retention.
- Prepare regular management reports on operational performance, project risks, resource planning and improvement priorities, in line with country management requirements.
- Other related ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.
