Sr. Strategic Procurement Manager

What we expect
This role is responsible for managing the development and implementation of procurement sourcing strategies end to end which will include: supplier management, supplier investigation and selection, managing cost of operations within a defined category of the supply chain; establishing standard costs; developing and executing cost reduction strategies; analyzing market indices and negotiating pricing based on relevant cost drivers; forecasting cost impacts; managing and leading all commercial negotiations with suppliers; and problem solving supply issues and recommending actions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Management of People, Training, coach, develop and monitor team performance.
- Managing team performance by undertaking activity as required covering other team roles during absence or during peaks in demand.
- Manage and develop best practice sourcing strategies within the global supplier landscape to include new suppliers as well as evaluation of current supply base to support proprietary project with a specific focus on Electric and Electronic components and complex systems.
- Work closely with our category teams in the Electromechanical, Instruments, and Electronics Manufacturing Space to ensure alignment on specific strategies and initiatives.
- Lead supplier management (SRM) activities for electronics categories including current year savings and contribution to 3-year savings pipeline + robust category value plans at that allow optimal service levels and lowest possible TCO. (Quality delivery and cost)
- Conduct and assess RFQs, negotiations, supplier evaluations, and determine supplier selection.
- Raise contracts to meet TKE terms and conditions in close cooperation with LOB owners and legal department and execute proper MSA.
- Manage Risk through proactive supply management actions.
- Conduct regular business reviews to include health and risk assessment.
- Ensure strategy synergy and strategic alignment with global PSM leadership and cluster managers.
- Work within cross functional project team to deliver best in class suppliers and development partners to support project success.
- Leads and participates in multi-functional teams for design improvement, cost reduction opportunities and supply continuity improvement.
- Reinforce all safety and environmental policies.
- Safeguarding reliability/stability of supply and required quality standards in all procurement.
- Owning decision-making and implementation and responsibility regarding approved sourcing strategies.
- Lead supplier relationship management activities as related to company’s proprietary project; Prepare and conduct negotiations with suppliers/partners to drive innovation and world-class procurement initiatives.
- Introduce “best practices” within procurement activities to increase efficiencies in current processes.
- Manage coordination of interfaces with internal clients regarding sourcing categories within assigned area of responsibility
- Teach, coach, and mentor team members to perform effectively in their role; Develop their capabilities for future roles and responsibilities.
- Support as possible EOPL and legacy workstreams within the E&E council landscape
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering is required.
- Master of Business Administration or equivalent advanced degree a plus
- C.P.M, CPSM, CPSD, or equivalent procurement certification is a plus.
- 15+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience within an automotive, aerospace, or consumer goods manufacturing industry is required. Strong plus, minimum 5 years of direct elevator industry experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience at the Senior Manager or Director level
- 5+ years of experience leading systems integration of Ariba, Oracle, or an equivalent P2P system is required.
- Experience in strategic purchasing, quotations, tenders, contract design, negotiation, total cost of ownership approach.
- Financial acumen and strong knowledge of accounting processes and procedures is required.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills; Exceptional communications skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects/resources simultaneously.
- High standard of ethics and professionalism; Entrepreneurial spirit and vision
- Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Project management skills, attention to detail, understanding business processes, and communication are important for this role.
- Must possess the ability to independently plan, coordinate, and execute work with autonomy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate progress to senior leaders and subordinates.
