TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Director of Engineering in Middleton, TN.
The Director of Manufacturing Engineering reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing and is responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, utility, facility operations, planning, and capital projects at the Middleton manufacturing facility. This role ensures that manufacturing processes, equipment, and buildings are designed for safe, efficient use, while achieving business objectives and maintaining regulatory compliance. The Director works closely with R&D Engineering on New Product Development and significantly influences design for manufacturability.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and develop a high-performing Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering team.
- Oversee the implementation of industrialization processes to ensure flawless new product launches.
- Drive development and deployment of next-generation manufacturing processes and capital equipment, with a focus on standardization and agility.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies, footprint analysis, and process/test standardization to support growth and efficiency.
- Spearhead the use of digital tools and technology roadmaps to achieve World Class Manufacturing standards.
- Foster Engineering talent through succession planning, mentoring, and career development.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, sustainability, and process reliability.
- Direct Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities teams, maximizing process improvements, cost efficiencies, and timely performance.
- Create training plans to ensure optimal performance across all departments and maintain weekly accountability meetings and performance reviews.
- Lead design layout and planning for equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency.
- Develop and execute preventative/predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule and support maintenance activities.
- Evaluate and optimize processes using Lean principles to reduce variability, enhance flow, and ensure employee safety.
- Monitor and improve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure strong interdepartmental collaboration to achieve business goals.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years supervising manufacturing engineering.
- Strong background in sheet metal design, assembly methods, and injection molded plastics preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and success in directing industrial engineering efforts in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of driving efficiency and profitability through engineering management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, office location, etc.

Employees will receive 15 days of paid time off (PTO) per year. Employees will enjoy 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year and 5 paid days of sick leave. Up to six weeks of paid parental leave will be available for use after successful completion of 90-days of full-time employment. Eligibility requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents.
