Overview
We are seeking an Elevator System Architect to join our R&D team and assist us in creating a standard global elevator product architecture, which includes the functional definition of modules and module interfaces.
You will be a member of the Global Product Architecture Team, which comprises system architecture methodology experts who coordinate and drive the creation of deliverables for the Modular Product Architecture Project.
You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders from R&D, Product Line Management, Procurement & Supply Management, Manufacturing, and Field/Sales, as well as experts in all product areas, to standardize key module interfaces to minimize rework when module implementation changes.
You will also participate in the Product Architecture Update Process, which establishes the methodology and standard work for updating the architecture and standard interfaces.
This activity is a high priority for our company, as it will enable R&D efficiency and cost reduction for all elevator products.
Responsibilities
As an Elevator System Architect, you will:
- Define and document the description and definition of elevator modules and groupings into subsystems and segments, using standard terminology and classifications.
- Specify and document the globally controlled interfaces of key modules, including the rationale and specifications for each interface.
- Review and approve the program deliverables with the Architecture Review Board, which consists of key stakeholders from different functions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Global Product Architecture Team and the Chief Engineers to leverage their expertise and ensure alignment and consistency of the product architecture.
- Follow and improve the Product Architecture Update Process, which outlines the steps and tools for updating the architecture and standard interfaces.
- Support the innovation and design for change of the elevator products, using functional systems thinking and modular product architecture principles.
Who we are looking for
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, preferably in mechanical, electrical, or software engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in elevator product development, design, or engineering.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of elevator systems, components, and functions.
- Experience in system architecture, modular design, or interface design highly desired.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global and cross-functional team.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
