- Product–DevOps Liaison
- Act as the primary bridge between Product and DevOps teams.
- Translate business and product requirements into operational and technical actions.
- Ensure alignment between product roadmap priorities and technical implementation.
Incident & Operational Management
- Manage and prioritize high-impact trouble tickets (including device/firmware incidents) under short SLAs.
- Use ITSM tools (such as Jira/ServiceNow) for incident tracking and follow-up.
- Support root cause analysis and drive remediation efforts for recurring issues across cloud, firmware, and hardware layers, using field telemetry and production data where available.
Technical Expertise
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure operational readiness and high-quality delivery across cloud services and embedded systems (firmware, device OS, edge runtimes).
- Support release processes for firmware and device software, including build provenance, artifact signing, and reproducible builds where applicable.
- Understand embedded platforms and constraints and how they affect operability, logging, and incident response.
- Work with teams using embedded Linux and/or RTOS environments to translate operational needs into implementable requirements.
- Ensure device security best practices are operationalized: secure boot, key management, vulnerability triage and supply-chain controls.
Embedded Components & Device Software Focus
- Own the operational and delivery lifecycle of reusable components, including embedded software deliverables (e.g., firmware modules, SDKs, UI widgets, shared libraries) used across products, devices, and services.
- Establish observability for embedded components and devices (structured logging, metrics, tracing, crash dumps, device telemetry) and monitor adoption, performance, battery/memory behavior, and reliability in production.
Embedded Systems Operations & Reliability
- Operate and improve the reliability of connected-device deployments: fleet health dashboards, telemetry quality, alerting, and SLOs/SLAs appropriate for device and backend dependencies.
- Coordinate triage for issues (device resets, boot failures, connectivity degradation, sensor/peripheral faults) and lead cross-team swarming with firmware, hardware, cloud, and support.
- Drive incident postmortems that account for embedded realities (hardware variance, environmental conditions, intermittent connectivity) and track corrective actions through closure.
- Partner with Manufacturing/Quality to define release gates, factory programming flows, provisioning, and traceability (serials, hardware revisions, build IDs).
Stakeholder Communication
- Build and maintain trust with stakeholders at all levels, including external partners.
- Provide clear, proactive updates on operational health, priorities, and project progress.
- Recommend improvements to processes, tooling, and execution to enhance efficiency and product reliability.
- Promote DevOps best practices such as automation, observability, and CI/CD optimization.
