About the Role We are looking for a Senior Embedded / Device Component Lead to drive the end‑to‑end development of our emergency communication devices within the Digital Emergency Services (DES) product ecosystem. These devices form the core of our mission-critical emergency communication stack and require exceptional reliability, robustness, and integration quality. In this technical leadership role, you will guide embedded development activities, collaborate deeply with our internal architecture team, coordinate with external vendors, and ensure seamless alignment with Product Owners and the cloud/backend engineering teams. You will be responsible for technical decision‑making, delivery quality, and roadmap execution for the device component. This is a senior role and experience leading teams or acting as a technical lead in embedded/IoT environments is highly preferred. Technical Leadership & Device Development
- Lead embedded/firmware development activities for DES emergency devices
- Own the technical direction, architecture discussions, and design decisions for the device component
- Ensure seamless integration between device firmware, connectivity modules, hardware interfaces, and cloud services
- Drive adherence to reliability, performance, and compliance requirements for safety‑critical systems
- Work closely with the internal architecture team to align on system-level design, interfaces, and technical standards (critical collaboration)
- Partner with Product Owners to understand feature requirements, technical implications, and release priorities
- Coordinate with cloud/backend leads to ensure full end-to-end functionality across the DES platform
- Collaborate with external vendors responsible for hardware and firmware development
- Ensure clear expectations, delivery quality, and technical alignment with partner teams
- Conduct technical reviews, architecture validations, and design evaluations with vendors
- Maintain transparent communication on progress, risks, and decisions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to embedded developers
- Support planning, sequencing of work, and resolving complex technical challenges
- Contribute to capacity planning and help shape the embedded development team over time
- Experience leading a team (formal or informal) is highly preferred
- Ensure timely delivery of firmware releases, patches, and new features
- Support integration testing, field validation, and continuous improvement cycles
- Work with QA, testing, and operations teams to validate device behavior in real-world environments
Quem buscamos
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in embedded systems, firmware development, or device engineering
- Strong technical expertise in embedded software, IoT devices, microcontrollers, connectivity modules (4G/VoIP/etc.)
- Experience collaborating with external hardware/firmware vendors
- Strong capability to lead technical discussions with architecture, hardware, and cloud teams
- Proven ability to drive the development lifecycle—from requirements to design, implementation, testing, and release
- Solid understanding of device‑cloud communication patterns
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a global, cross‑functional environment
- Fluent English (spoken & written)
- Experience with safety‑critical or regulated environments
- Familiarity with real‑time operating systems (RTOS), C/C++, bootloaders, or firmware update mechanisms
- Understanding of emergency protocols or telecom/VoIP technologies
- Experience leading or managing an engineering team
- Knowledge of Azure IoT, cloud connectivity, or device provisioning flows
- Ownership of the device component of a global, mission‑critical product
- A highly collaborative environment with global teams in Germany, Brazil, India, Spain, Hungary, and the US
- Technical leadership responsibility with strong influence on product outcomes

- Language:
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages, such as German and/or Spanish, are beneficial.
