What we expect

We are looking for an experienced Senior License Manager to join our dynamic team in Madrid. The ideal candidate will bring a broad understanding of license management processes, with a strong background in consultancy and expertise in SAP licensing. This role will be key to managing and optimizing software license portfolios, ensuring compliance, and supporting cost-effective software asset management strategies.

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end process of software license management, including the acquisition, deployment, tracking and renewal of licenses
  • Expert for SAP licensing, ensuring optimal usage and compliance while mitigating risks related to audits and legal obligations.
  • Ensure full compliance with vendor licensing terms and conditions. Develop and maintain policies, standards, and documentation to support effective license management.
  • Identify opportunities for license optimization, cost savings across the organization.
  • Lead license audits, liaising with vendors and third-party auditors to ensure a smooth audit process and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including procurement, legal, finance, and IT teams, to align license management strategies with business objectives.
  • Prepare regular reports on license usage, compliance status, and cost performance for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Leverage consultancy experience to provide insights and strategies for license management improvements, tailoring best practices to the company's needs.
  • Managing SAM service provider (regular service reviews with the managed service provider)

Who we are looking for

  • Senior License Manager with a broad understanding of ITAM
  • Strong understanding of SAP licensing models, including the ability to manage and optimize SAP license usage.
  • Proven track record of managing vendor audits, with expertise in handling compliance and legal requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in using license management and SAM tools to track and optimize license usage.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy firm with a focus on license management is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Finance, or related fields. A relevant certification in License Management or Software Asset Management (e.g., ITIL, ISO/IEC 19770) is a plus.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in software license management, preferably within a consultancy environment.
