TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Materials Planner located in Byhalia, MS.
Responsible for managing material planning and inventory control to support our manufacturing processes. This role will focus on coordinating material requirements,
optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring that production schedules are met without delay. The Senior Materials Planner will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Supply Chain, to ensure that materials are available when needed and that production efficiency is maximized.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize SAP to forecast and plan material requirements based on production schedules, customer demand, and historical data;
- Coordinate with purchasing teams to initiate purchase orders for required materials and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt.
- Manage and resolve any material-related issues or shortages, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the continuous supply of materials while avoiding overstocking or stockouts;
- Define safety stocks and policies;
- Develop new strategies within the supply chain;
- System automations & improvements;
- Update daily reports and KPIs
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in materials planning, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with engineering, manufacturing, production, and supply chain teams to meet business objectives.
- Experience in inventory management and demand forecasting, with the ability to balance supply with production requirements while managing costs.
- Experience using materials planning software (e.g., SAP, or similar ERP systems) and data analysis tools to make informed, strategic decisions.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP (particularly MM and PP modules).
- Solid understanding of supply chain processes, including forecasting, procurement, inventory management, and production planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- Advanced certifications in Supply Chain or Materials Management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP), preferred
- Lean six sigma certifications, preferred
- Experience in the elevator manufacturing industry or similar sectors, preferred
