TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Technical Trainer located in Atlanta, GA.
The Technical Trainer role is a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical/Technical Training role designed to develop, implement, and manage technical training programs for elevator technicians, field service engineers, and other related roles. The Trainer III Specialist will need a strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting background, along with experience in training and curriculum development. The ideal candidate must be proficient in instructor-led training (ILT), web-based training involving on-camera presence, and virtual classroom delivery & facilitation. This role will partner closely with other seed campus roles (e.g., technical and operations portfolio manager, instructional designers, learning management administrator, etc.) to develop and maintain curricula. The Training III Specialist will serve as a learning consultant to the technical and operations portfolios to provide optimal solutions in learning and development (e.g., training initiatives, QRGs, coaching, mentoring, train the trainer, skill development, information dissemination, presentation skills, and feedback). This learning consultant function will allow the Training III Specialist to maintain program cohesiveness, improve program effectiveness with each iteration, along with aiding in developing and delivering the content. ESSENTIAL JOB FUCNTIONS:
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for elevator systems and components, including motors, controllers, sensors, and safety mechanisms
- Delivery methods to include proficiency in instructor-led training, webinars, virtual classrooms, video recordings, and blended learning environments
- Serve as a learning consultant to the technical and operational portfolios
- Provide feedback to Seed Campus staff and assist in updating existing content based on learning feedback and measurement
- Build/maintain relationships with key business partners to ensure alignment of Seed Campus initiatives with TKE business goals
- Provide a positive learning environment during training sessions and manage student expectations—including attendance, timing, and behavior expectations
- Interview engineers, field engineers, elevator mechanics, educational specialists, and other personnel to become familiar with product operation and technology—gathering information needed for content development
- Set up and preparation of virtual learning sessions
- Research, review, and study trade catalogs, drawings, blueprints, sketches, specifications, mock-ups, operating elevator systems, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedures, and training requirements
- Stay updated with new technologies, safety regulations, and industry best practices to ensure training content remains current.
- Develop instructional materials, presentations, and hands-on training exercises to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Monitor and communicate budgeted and non-budgeted expenditures to ensure that training costs do not exceed allocated funds and assist in budget preparation and submission, including all training costs.
- Coordinate attendance and sign-in sheets, when necessary, with Seed Campus LMS Manager for record keeping.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
- Certified Elevator Technician (CET) or equivalent certification (preferred)
- OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred)
- Prior experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements
- Five years or more of training development and delivery experience in a corporate environment
- 5+ years of experience in the elevator industry with a strong background in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- 3+ years of experience in training, technical instruction, or workforce development
- Proven ability to design and deliver training programs in a hands-on, technical environment.
- Experience facilitating/conducting instructor-led and virtual training in a classroom and/or web-based setting.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage workload and deliver programs with minimal supervision and maintain a high degree of proficiency while traveling
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated self-starter who can effectively prioritize, multi-task, and manage to accomplish objectives within deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through; and the ability to take responsibility and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to develop good working relationships and effectively team with others, internal and external
- Excellent judgment, strict adherence to confidentiality requirements, and the utmost professionalism in all situations
- Ability to work towards department goals with a sense of teamwork and necessary urgency
