What we expect
- Lead and manage mechanical design and development projects from concept to production.
- Conduct design validation during prototype, pre-series, and pilot phases in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Perform design verification using tools such as FEA, DFMEA, and participate in PDR/CDR reviews.
- Prepare design calculations, technical documentation, and qualification reports.
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering standards, applicable codes, and best practices.
- Collaborate with global teams and participate in cluster meetings to provide project updates.
- Visit suppliers for product development and qualification activities.
- Conduct site visits to elevator installations for testing and field support.
- Oversee testing and validation of mechanical components and systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design and development processes.
- Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve quality and performance.
Who we are looking for
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and product development.
- Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal/structural analysis.
- Expertise in GD&T, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with design quality tools such as DFMEA, 8D, and 5W1H.
- Familiarity with Windchill PLM and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Knowledge of design automation and error-proofing techniques.
- Strong understanding of materials used in sheet metal and structural design.
- Excellent project management skills including timeline, budget, and resource planning.
