TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Logistics Technician III in Middleton, TN.

This role is responsible for performing the essential functions associated with material flow and inventory integrity within the department while driving process adherence and leading in the absence of the production leader and/or production manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Capable of performing all functions of Technician I and Technician II with particular emphasis on problem solving, material flow and continuous improvement.
• Train and mentor Level I and Level II technicians and other peers.
• Perform basic Team Lead activities to include assigning work to Logistic Technicians.
• Facilitate inventory control utilizing supported system methods and physical verification.
• Provide area material replenishment support which consists of:
• Monitor inventory replenishment standards.
• Research material shortages for root cause and problem solving.
• Support area changes.
• Identify 6S opportunities and sustains the 6S process.
• Support Control Tower functions.
• Complete Daily Area order checklist and confirmation.
• Complete Audits.
• Document and enter safety and quality opportunities in Process Maps and Gensuite.
• Participate in at least one continuous improvement project of moderate scope and complexity.
• Identify and add parts to delivery database.
• Assist in troubleshooting process issues.
• Support department projects as needed.
  Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma and/or Technical School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.
• 2-4 years experience in logistics, inventory management, distribution or general manufacturing.
• Moderate knowledge of inventory management systems (COPICS, SAP, PFEP) and how they affect other interdependent processes.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to apply solid working knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment needed for the position.
• Ability to apply standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing.
• Demonstrate ability to apply skills and knowledge to identify and solve moderately complex issues and increase efficiency, throughput and quality.
• Ability to influence others cross-functionally to achieve targets.
• Possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Possess strong decision making and prioritization skills with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
• Possess a general understanding of lean material systems concepts and ability to communicate and practically apply them as needed.
