What we expect
Your main tasks are as follows:
- Support other testing teams in developing, configuring and setting up test equipment, ensuring the required test infrastructure is available for Component and Integration tests
- Reproduce and simulate defects observed in the field using a specialized test bench setup. You will validate issues and contribute to effective defect resolution, with guidance from senior team members.
- Help capture, retrieve, and analyze device logs, identifying and investigating unusual behaviors or anomalies. This will contribute to ensuring device functionality and stability.
- Assist in using packet analyzer tools like tcpdump or Wireshark to capture and analyze network traffic within the edge network. You will gather evidence and insights under supervision for assessments.
- Assist in analyzing data (e.g., using Databricks) to identify outliers in metrics/logs such as connectivity, resource utilization, consumption, API calls, or error rates.
Who we are looking for
Skills:
- Advanced bachelor's or master’s student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- A conceptual understanding of software testing principles, with a willingness to learn more in this area.
- Some hands-on experience with embedded devices and remote access tools (e.g., SSH, Putty, MobaXterm) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with IoT devices running on Linux-based systems and a basic understanding of hardware and electronics, experience with Raspberry Pi is a plus.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python or C++.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure Pipelines or Git.
- An understanding of networking and IP-related protocols is helpful.
Desired Qualities:
- You should be eager to expand your knowledge and learn new testing tools, methodologies, and technologies.
- Careful and thorough in performing tasks to ensure accurate results.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, helping others, and asking for support when needed.
You should be available for 20 hours per week for at least 6 months.
